Citi DC Recon Approved... Then Denied?

I applied earlier today for the Citi Double Cash, and was denied so I called their recon line and was told to call back in 24 hours because their system would have the denial reason(s) by then. I researched more about their recon line and decided to call back tonight, and a recording stated the denial reason was due to too many recent inquiries on my Experian report. That was the same reason I've read other's state for their denial, and I know that couldn't be a valid reason for me since I recently made two years of the applying for any new credit, and one of those two inquiries was from earlier today.

After speaking with someone and explaining that I only have two inquiries on my Experian, the agent verified my address, birthday, and said we had to hang up so she can call me right back to verify my phone number, and after calling me back, she said "congratulations, you have been approved with a starting limit of $7,700". I'm totally shocked the recon worked for me. Glad I decided not to just accept my original denial. Thanks to all who contribute such valuable information in here.
