Got a pre-selected offer for the Citibank Diamon card in the mail yesterday.
Really want the Double Cash Back card, but no offers for that.
I pulled the trigger and was approved in about 5 mins.
Couple of questions:
1) If I apply for the DCB card or the Prestige card, will they use the same pull done today or will it be a new pull?
2) The credit limit is $13K and the APR is 0% for the first year. Was hopping for a higher limit along the lines of what I already have, around $20K or more was what I was hopping for. Does Citi do recons for higher limits? Should I wait to get the card and then ask for a CLI? Call in now? or???
Ps....I forgot all my credit reports are frozen, so after I applied, it told me that it would need to be reviewed. Got an email a few mins later that my credit report was frozen and to unlock and call their 800 number when I was ready to proceed. It said it was trying to pull from Transunion. I went to TU and unfroze it and then called and spoke to a rep to let me know I had unfrozen it for the day, he said thanks and he would work it. About 3 mins later I got the email I was approved.
This is my TU profile, so wondering if I should apply for the DCB or Presitge or recon for a higher limit. According the TU vebiage at the bottom, since I am already at the "top level" I might not see any additional benefit. I pulled it right before calling Citi to apply, figured based on what they show, I should be approved (which i was), just not the amount I was looking for. (it would seem that Citi only pulls TU in the DC/VA area?)
My personal income is around $230K right now any my wife's is around $125K. I only use my own income as a sole applicant and put her on as an AU.
TIA to all for any advice!!!
Also, are the DCB and Prestige harder to get than the Diamond?
I know that Diamond does not really have any rewards, but other than Home Depot (co-branded with Citi since 2003), and other than my 15 year old primary banking account and a car loan (paid off years ago), I don't have a relationship with Citi, so that is why I pulled the trigger.
oh, dang. You should have waited a week. You'll get a letter in the mail for a Double-Cash invite in about five days. At least that's what happened to me. I applied for both cards anyway.

LOL.....did you get both? I have cashback cards with CP1 QS and Amex BCE...so thinking now, that either the Prestige or Citi AA card might be better. I used to get AA miles on my Citi Debit Card, but several years ago, they killed that....
Yep! I was approved for both. Diamond for $13k and Double-Cash for $8,200
Sweet, is it the same pull, since they already pulled me earlier today on TU?
No. two hard pulls. I figured what the heck? I only have 4 hp across the board.
congrats on the new card, and on getting someone other than barclay's to pull TU! totally jealous.

Thanks, in the email they sent me (below), Citi identifued TU only in the email, so they only one I unlocked...lucky for me it is my only over 800 score among the three CRs
Do they pull other CRs, as they are frozen as well, or maybe it is on a product case by case based, like Prestige/DCB requires another CR or all CRs? Maybe by region/zip code??
Anyone know? I live in NoVa (Northern Virginia) about 20-30 mins from DC if that makes a difference.
