I received a pre-selected mailer for the Citi Diamond Preferred card yesterday, which has me worried(?) I guess that my opt-out the month before didn't actually go through? I thought opting out would mean you get no mailers from companies? Maybie I'm understanding the opt out incorrectly?
I opted out on May 11 & have the print out for it, & haven't accepted or asked for any credit since that date that would opt me back in. If I'm understanding this incorrectly lemme know please! 
Anyways, I just opted out again just now, so hopefully I will be opted out for up to 5 years now?
ETA: The mailer says 0% for 12 months while the website says 21 months. I guess the 0% timeframe depends on your scores?
In theory it would seem it should work, but it wouldn't surprise me that some still slip through the cracks.
