I applied for for the Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve on 9/9/16 and received the following message:
Thank you. We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. You may check back in 24 hours to see if a decision has been determined. We will contact you within 1 week via mail/email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a Citi® Hilton HHonors™ Reserve.
Today, a week later, I decided to call their recon line to see if there was an issue. The CSR aksed did I have a number ending in XXXX. I replied, Yes and that is my home number. She said that she needed to verify this number so I would have to call back from my home phone. I am at work and will call back this evening.
Background: I was approved for the Citi Diamond Preferred with a 9800k CL on 8/28/16. Applying for the reserve soon after the Diamond card probably triggered the additional processing time. The Diamond Preferred was my first major credit card since clearing Ch 13 in 2014. I have excellent credit with no blemishes now. All credits scores are in high 700s at all bureaus. I just started working again in August and had been unemployed for 17 months. That could be the reason for the low CL compared to others but it all I need at this time. Oh, I also have to store cards with $0 balances wherein it was free financing the first year and now I don't use them (Bose and Kay Jewelers). I just learned from one of the forums that store cards hurt your score. Will stay away from them in the future.
