After seeing my CLI with my Chase account, I decided to apply for a SP CLI with my Citi Premier (opened Novermber 2022) since I've heard of people trying a little bit before their 6th statement.
But I get this new message:
• You already have the maximum amount of credit we allow without pulling a credit bureau report
• We currently do not have your consent to pull a credit bureau report
This is in contrast to previous messages which have said
• We're unable to approve your request because your credit report shows too many recently opened accounts. Based on my Equifax report
Any ideas what I should try to do except just keep waiting for new statements to cut?

It appears that your newest accounts may have aged enough for Citi. Now, they want a full bureau to see what they couldn't see with a normal a/r. If you really want a limit increase, you'll need to give them full access for a hard inquiry. It still may or may not be approved but if you feel like you've pushed enough spend through your Premier to warrant the request and approval in the last 6 months, go for it. Keep in mind, you may already be at a limit Citi is comfortable with based on your income and you may need more time with your other accounts. Is your Chase credit limit increase reporting yet?
I don't put much spend on the Premier although I may over the summer. The Chase credit limit increase should report at the next statement which closes on the 28th of April so I may try again at the end of next month so that Citi has a full month to soft pull.

HPs and SPs show the exact same information. The only difference is that an HP leaves a record behind on one's CRs to alert other creditors about credit-seeking behavior.

Sometimes they'll use an older SP (like from an a/r)
Allowing a HP would ensure it's an immediate - current review.
I also have a citi dc credit card which I have open back in 2015 and in the last can not get increases with letting Citibank doing a hard pull on my credit report , I will not take a hard pull just for increase they can do a soft pull at any time they will have most of info they need to make decision. for example I open a paypal mastercard back in may of 22 with starting limit of 6,500and today it has limit of 20K with soft pulls only, other hand I also have a Citi custom cash card which started with a 6K limit also back in may of 22 and it has only grown to 8K. Citi is muchtougher to get increases then other banks.
Definitely wait until the full 6 month mark until trying again. If it's the same response, just let your new accounts age until it's 0/6 and hopefully it will be a better result. Good luck.

Just wait. Seriously. Citi can be picky, for years if I was anything over 0/6 I couldn't get a SP CLI, only this year was I able for the first time to get a CLI on my Citi cards while at 1/6. This is not unusual for them at all. Just keep plugging away at it.
