So i applied for the citi secured a few days ago. Today I noticed that they deducted the security deposit. Does this mean it is approved?

Yes. Once the deposit is deducted, you are good to go. Congrats!!
Yesssssss!
Congrats!!!
I applied Monday afternoon and the status still shows as "under review". I am really hoping to see that deposit taken from my account because I want back in the door with Citi sooooooo badly. I am very anxious that it is taking and will result in a decline

Hang in there and will keep fingers crossed for you. Update the thread with results ok...
Update, I checked this morning via the application status link and it still states that the application requires further processing. So I decieded to call and spoke with a CSR and he basically told me the same thing. He also mentioned that just because the deposit is taken, it does not necessarily mean that it is approved. Yikes, now I have a bad feeling about it. He told me that they take the deposit and then check your info. Doesn't make sense to me at least. When I got approved for BoA secured last year the ran my credit, approved me, and then took my deposit. I guess another week of waiting to see where I stand.
Well, I wouldn't care if it took a month just as long as it is approved!

When I apped and was eventually approved for the citi secured it took forever and ever (and ever) for them to approve the application.
Be patient, itll happen
