Hi Guys--
So I am pretty new to getting individual credit cards, I previously had only used an Amex platinum and a Wells Fargo Visa Plat both as AU's from my parents. I have had the visa as an AU for nearly 7 years, and amex as an AU for about 4 years.
I applied and got approved for a Barclaycard Arrival Plus WEMC with a limit of $1500 and a Chase Sapphire Preferred with a limit of $5000 (had to recon call for this one though) about a month ago.
My income is $132k/year and these are my credit report stats:
Experian: 730, Equifax: 745, Transunion: 735; total credit $17500, amex is a charge card with no limit
5 accounts open, no loans or morgages, no collections, no bankrupcy
Inquiries:
Experian: Citi (for this card), Chase 7/27/18, Car dealership 12/22/16, WF 9/26/17
Equifax: None
Transunion: Barclays 7/24/18
My oldest individual account is a year old wells fargo visa signature with a limit of $7k
I spent about $3k on my Barclays and about $6k on my Chase last month (wanted those bonuses and paid for some hospital bills/insurance) however I made a rookie mistake and actually overpaid both of those accounts before the statements cut...so they show zero utilization.
I was intrigued by the new 60k point bonus offer for the Citi TY Premier, so I applied last night and got this message:
Thank you for your Citi ThankYou® Premier Card application. We're still reviewing it. Depending on how quickly we're able to process your information, we may post a decision here in 24 hours, so feel free to check back then. We'll be in touch in approximately 7-10 days via mail or email with a decision.
Do you think I have a shot at getting an approval for this card? I am antsy and just wanna know already ![]()
Thanks
Thank you frogman1! I decided to take your advice and call. The CSR just asked me to verify my name, ssn, address and phone number and approved me with a SL of $3000
Very excited!! I have read a lot on this forum and its definitely helped my knowledge about credit grow exponentially.
