Max Exposure - AMEX 3X CLI

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to inquire about something that’s been troubling me for a while and even more so as I approach my second 3X CLI date.

I was approved for BCE at a 4K SL then requested a 2.5X CLI at 91 days arriving at a total 10K CL.

So here’s the my dilemma, I’m still a student and only make 38K/year. I’m worried that being a student with that specific income would trigger a denial when I request a CLI in the upcoming week or two.

What’s the highest possible increase I can request with out being effected by max exposure?

# of Accs: 1 student loan (in deferment-no interest), 2 revolvers (1.6k and 10k each); 3 total

No dilemna: ask for the max and Amex will give you what's available. Only they know what that number is so no need to fret about it. Good luck & please update.

That’s what I would do or would recommend others do, but I’ve seen a few posts where others have been denied because the income is relatively low in comparison to requested increase.

Amex will go up to 25k without income check. Go ahead abs apply for CLI. They will approve. Try and let us know.

Will do. From what I understand CLIs are based more on Fico8s than income so chances are I will be approved. I wouldn’t be hesitant if I had a few more cards on my profile with a 60k or so income.
