I'm getting a CITI "you've been pre-selected" offer about every other day. They are sending them for three of their cards. The double cash back one, simplicity and Diamond prefered. In about a 3-week timeframe, the offers have gone from 0% for 12 months to 0% for 18 months, and the regular APR has gone down 2 percentage points. Are they likely to get any better? My credit scores are 663- 690 and inching up. I had a big purchase on a card that's dropping, plus a couple cards gave me increases that haven't reported yet. I have two unsecured cards and three secured. I'd like to get a third unsecured and start closing the secured, which are approaching 1-yr old.
You want an unsecured, right? Well, I'd research the &^%% out of those cards and if you're in a position to app, figure out which is best for you.
Also, I'm jealous. The Quarterback totally wants you and I'm over here like do I stink?

hahah! I'm like over here jumping up and down like Donkey from shrek PICK ME PICK ME!
I am getting it too. I am only getting the diamond preferred but if I am not interested. My DH has gotten a Barclay's mailer every day for at least 2 months! lol
I noticed they started when I started carrying a balance on another card after I made a big purchase and took advantage of a 0% interest offer. My scores went down a bit because I had two cards reporting and a larger utilization. Before, when my scores were a bit higher, I didn't get these offers. I think they're hoping I'll get there card and carry a balance. Or pay 3% to switch from a 0% card, haha.

To answer your question, it's possible that they get better if they haven't reached their minimum APR's yet; it'd be best to check on Citi's website and see if your offer has the lowest in the reported range.
As for the intro APR extension, I've never heard of that happening on offers before; did it go from 12-18 months for the same card? Or is that for different cards? Because different Citi cards do have different lengths of intro APR for their standard offers even if applying without a prequal.
My pre-selected offer for the Diamond Preferred is 12 months @ 0% yet the website says 21 months @ 0%. I guess your credit score determines how many months you get?
Edit: I just checked their online pre-qual & it couldn't match me to a card, so looks like they are yanking my chain anyways, lol.

All three cards started at 12 months, now one is 15, and the other two have gone up to 18.
