I nearly had a heart attack going through today's mail and seeing a Citi mailer with the words "pre" in the window. But it says, "pre-selected." This is one of the cards/banks I was really hoping to get. I have a sneaking suspicion that pre-selected by Citi doesn't mean anything special? Can anyone advise?

Look and see if they give you a specific APR. If so its a good preapproval. If they just give you a range, it's a marketing mailer
Pretty Solid.
One of the higher APR but it is not the highest. Chances are they may have SP you.
They pulled both EQ and EX for me as I have had not relationship with Citi before yesterday. Looking at your scores they might be borderline so if approved dont expect a massive limit. If you app just make sure to enter your prequal in.
I had 10 EX inq in the past six months and 0 on my EQ. The Util on EX is 8% and EQ is 14%? They like what they saw when I made the recon call and gave me 16k on the AA Prestige. I Was originaly denied due to the inq over the past 6 months on EX.
Just be ready to make that recon call and explain the inq if it gets denied.
I kind of have a pre-existing relationship with Citi, but it's a store card. They manage the Children's Place card.
In the last six months, I have 6 inquiries on EQ and 5 on TU/EX. Prior to that, there are more from car shopping last Sept.
I'm not preparing for anything big to purchase or refinance. I guess it wouldn't hurt to see what happens....?
Well if you app make sure you report Back!!!
If you have a pre existing I believe they will pull EX however that is not always the case. I had the Best Buy RMC. But they still double pulled me.

Oooh, looks like it was a soft pull and not a horrible SL. Not as low as my lowest, but definitely not anywhere close to my Venture.
Foot is now firmly in the door at Citi. Next year, I'll see about a PC if no other pre-approved offers come my way.
CONGRATS!
