I started a thread recently (FlawlessShineAutoSpa vs Amex & Chase!) it tells of my dealings with Amex and Chase with having FA's on all 3 CR.. I also apped for the Citi Double Cash on the same day as the others...App msg comes back saying Future processing is required at this time.. This was on Friday 12-5..I call Citi on Monday to check the status.. CR tells me it's still under review and there's no other info... So I called back this morning to check.. CR informs me that a IRS form was mailed out to me yesterday ..I asked what type of IRS form.. She says the 4506-T.. That it has to be filled out correctly by me and by spouse if married with both signatures.... I've read other threads that Amex is prominent for requesting 4506-T's..
As in my other thread.. Amex didn't request anything but just asked me a moderate amount of questions and a call back to my cell to see if that I was the one who apped for the BCE then asked a few more questions then I was approved. With Chase the dealings were similar to Amex and the results from Chase was a approval... I truly do understand Citi's point of requesting more info.. Now if I decide to go ahead with it.. Will be worth it.. Meaning receiving a high CL? Or what? Again it amazes me that it was kind of easy to get a approval from Amex and Chase with FA's on all 3 of my CR's.. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Umm just no... A pay-stub or something else should do..
It's been posted on here and other forums where Citi may require from time to time a 4506-T for POI. It also depends "what" income information you stated on your application. It's really simple, you can provide the information they request and leverage a possible approval (there's no guarantee you will get a super-duper high CL just because of the 4506-T request) or, you decline to provide it and the application is declined.

I have never heard of CITI requesting this. I wonder what trigered the 4506-T. Based on the CL in your signature, why are they requesting that? Ask them if a pay stub is OK. Keep us posted.
I also got a 4506-T request from Citi when applying for Double Cash. It has taken *forever* for them to process this - I applied over a month ago, they've had my filled 4506-T for 3 weeks, and still no word. Granted, I have no idea how much is Citi taking forever and how much is the IRS taking a long time to get them my transcript. If you have a ton of patience and a big desire for this card, it might be worth it, but I can't help thinking I'm gonna be disappointed when they finally do get back to me.
Funny thing is, my 2013 taxes have 20% higher income listed than I put on my application thanks to some windfalls.
Not terribly impressed with Citi so far.
