CitiBank Decline: Should i Recon?

Applied for the AAdvantage  and was declined. Got the letter in the mail today and it stated:

 - A garnishment, attachment, foreclosure, collection action or judgement was recorded on your credit bureau report.

That was the only reason given. I do have a few collections that I am waiting to fall off (5+ years old) and nothing recent. Should I try and recon? The pulled EQ but the letter doesn't have my score. Weird.

EDIT: Just check EQ and they are medical collections from things that were rejected by my insuracne when i had surgery in 2008.

You can always try and recon...but you have multiple collections on your record.

I wouldn't suggest applying to anything until those fall off.

Citibank is uber conservative. They are my lowest limit at $1k and refuse to cli. Once my 3 baddies drop from EQ, I will hit em up for more.

Not every lender will give you credit because another lender has. Citi has their standards and you didn't meet them. You can always try to recon but they aren't very recon happy.

I know that, but my respone was to the statement in red. Not applying for ANYTHING would be somewhat preposterous.

Understood, I think what they meant was to let the inquiries age out some. How many do you have on your reports now?

Re: CitiBank Decline: Should i Recon?

Smiley Surprised well maybe the baddies are the reasons they use this time, they can always find some reason to deny you and having 20+ may look like another option for them if they wanted to use that avenue.
