hi all
So about 10 years ago i burned citibank and i was on their blacklist. recently i checked homedepot and i got a prequalification for their card. I also checked citibank.com for one of their credit cards but still nothing. Should i take the homedepot card just so i can start building a relationship again with them even though i dont shop their much.
personally, I would not take a card I would not use, especially a store card that only can be used at one store.
Have you tried Discover Pre-Qualify Site or American Express?
some others will probably chime in, on The Subject.
EDIT:
You might also list your scores, any cards you have open, any Collections.

The Home Depot card in it of itself would not really pave the way for Citi core CCs, unfortunately. The Citi Retail division is a separate entity. That being said, no need to apply for a product that won't be utilized as much.
Another item to keep in mind, not having a pre-qualified offer does not prevent you from applying to see whether you can obtain a Citi core product if your overall profile supports it. Have you applied recently for any of their CCs?
