Anyone with a Citi credit card know or remember how long it took for them to receive theirs in the mail?
Just got approved for their DC on Wednesday and the Disco IT on Thursday. Disco is already on it's way (use USPS Informed App) and I know they automatically expedite, which is great, but called Citi and they do not expedite for new card members. Lame excuse of "it takes time to add your to their system" and yada, yada, yada....even offered to pay for it to be shipped early. Firm Denial!
I travel consistently for work and am only going to be home a couple of days next week, leaving back out again Wednesday, which would make it exactly 7 days from approval and receiving email that my card would arrive in 7-10 days. I don't want to leave the card in my mailbox that long and would like to grab it before I go so just curious if anyone remembers and can give me some feedback....did you receive on the earlier end of timeline, etc.
Thanks!
While I cannot remember how long it took to actually arrive, this is the USPS so it's going to vary based upon where you live in relation to where it was shipped from. I have no idea where they are shipped from but I do know that CitiBank is out of Sioux Falls so if you've gotten notice that it's shipped then I would kind of use that as a baseline.

IIRC, there's been topics on this already posted as far as the approximate timeframe. It appears to vary depending on where you live - some folks have reported it being a bit slow while others have received their cards in say about 4-5 business days. 7-10 business days is the general timeframe. This isn't about them giving you a "lame excuse". You'll just need to be patient while your card is in transit.
Of noteworthy, depending on the extent of one's relationship with CITI, my DC card was able to be expedited 😁
Thanks for the feedback... yes, I may just have to wait until next month if it doesn't arrive. Not the end of the world, especially since my Disco will be there and I can utilize that in the mean time. Nice to see they expedited for you, but as you said, that could be due to ongoing relationship with them as opposed to being a brand new customer. I understand they do have to process everything, I just see most banks have some sort of way of doing it so thought maybe I just got an angry rep.
Thanks again, very helpful! ![]()
Thanks all for the feedback. I do use the USPS Informed App so I'll be able to see when something is coming, but just thought it would help to get a general time frame. I realize these things take time and it's not the end of the world, especially since my Disco card will be there and I can start utilizing that. The bigger reason for me is just leaving my mail (important mail) unattended like that for so long. I'm gone for a month or more at a time and get nervous about it just sitting in my mailbox. I guess I could always have that card reported lost if worst came to worst and have them send a new one, in which then I know they do expedite.
Thanks everyone!

I was approved for my Citi DC on 4/11/2018. Recieved a notice of the approval and it stated that I would get the card 7-10 days and that was this past Tuesday. I received my card yesterday 4/20. So it was about 9 days. I’m in a major city if that helps.
When you received that email stating you were approved and card would arrive in 7-10 days, just this past Tuesday (04/17/2018), was that the first email you received from them stating that since the approval on 04/11/2018?

I actually got an email on the 12th. I received a letter basically stating the same info in the email. Again this letter was in my mailbox on Tuesday.
Gotcha... that makes sense then. Thanks for the help!

Hi OP,
As others have mentioned, Citi can be a mixed bag. I can tell you that I live not 30 minutes from where they ship their cards and I've never received a Citi card in less than 12 days and I have the Diamond Preferred, Double Cash, Simplicity, and Best Buy Visa. In my experience they're slow...they seem to move at the same speed as Cabelas.
