Hi everyone .
I thought i would just let everyone know my recent experience concerning my request for a cli for my Amazon prime account. About a week or 2 ago i tried calling credit solutions to see if i could increase my limit. Asked for 10 thousand as most recommend around here but was not countered and not approved
. This was just after getting some other approvals of cli's via CS. Anyhow, i figured since my account is relatively new i can understand. 2 days ago i decided to try again via chat thinking maybe i asked too much and maybe i had left room on my 1st increase when i went from 1400 to 5000. Was just trying to get it up to 6 to match some other cards i have. Unlike when i called and was on phone waiting quite a bit, the chat moved faster and really the decision was much faster. Still no go . Ok no probs bob
. I realize i may not have sufficient time with account and am cool with the decisions. Gotta try right? Anyway just wanted to let you know somehow they actually hard pull my Experian account yesterday. Surprisingly this is my best account at 704 with least amount of inquiries, 12, now 13. So just be cautious that you may receive a hp when requesting a cli via chat with Amazon. Ymmv could be just for me seeking increase within 2 weeks but you never know. Thanks have a nice day.

I'm sorry to hear about the HP.
There are some other reports lately (specifically about Credit Solutions) being a HP in some cases, but not all.
The worst part is that asking might not tell you much (my understanding is that they usually mention it "may" be a HP, and we have just known anecdotally that it generally isn't). It appears that YMMV may be the case going forward.

5k seems to be the limit everyone can get when they call in for recon. I recieved my card a week later after I apped and was approved then call in and asked for 5k and she gave it to me no questions asked, not even a hard pull.
Sorry that happened. That is unfortunate when you don't see it coming....even though we know it's possible any time. But this is the first time I.read of that happening.
Learning to expect the unexpected when applying for Cli or just a CC is what im learning I dont know if was by an accidental double app or not but on my last try to get a Discover about a month ago they actually double pullled me , one with the EQ most of us expect them to pull( this is my lowest still but gaining) and then one for my EX which when i saw figured maybe i had a chance since it was my best CR. It was not to be i guess . Just goes to show no matter how many pulls a creditor does doesnt mean we will get our approval. Lessons learned.
By the way ill definitely update this thread when i receive my letter to let everyone know the reason(s) for denial!!

Even when i was actually at PepBoys and called in to request cli to do repairs, still no . Finally after almost a year and another HP to boot, finally got an increase to 1200.Asked for 5000 but they only countered with 12..
