Comenity Credit Increase Button

Quick question: When hitting this button, is it a hard or soft pull? Also, how often is too often? The account was opened in September with a low credit limit but I have been with Comenity for over 5 years on my VS card so I have an established credit history with them.

I don't know if its HP or SP but I believe they won't give them until 6 months.

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

As far as I have read on a new card they don't like to give a SP CLI before 9 months on a new card. Some have gotten one earlier. Some use the auto CLI until they get the 7-10 day message. Use the search the board top right of page and see what others have done. Good Luck!

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

Most of their cards will not allow an increase until that card has reached 9 months. However, some like Express, VS has been known to allow a CLI early so YMMV. Also, it's usually a SP but that also could vary.

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

I pressed the CLI button on my JCrew card and it hasn't even arrived yet!  Instant CLI from 2700 to 3200 but I got the 7-10 day message when I pressed it a second time.  I'll probably press it again after my first statement drops.  It was a SP for me.

Thanks for the feedback.

Just tried it again and received the 7-10 response. Its been about 3 months so I'll try again at the 6 month mark.

I only have the Overstock card with them but I've had 3 cli's with it so far in a couple months. One for $200 the day I opened it, one for $200 on Thanksgiving Day and I just got one a few minutes ago for another $200 All soft pulls. Haven't even had 3 statements yet.

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

Comenity does not handle out high CL or CLI so do not expect a whole lot.  I believe every 3 months but YMMV depending on how your report looks.

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

I have better luck with the automated phone system then the button online most of the time... it's just a longer process when the system starts handing out $200 increment CLI becuase each time it asks if it can help you with anything else you have to start over like you just called in... Took me almost 20 minutes doing my 17 CLI on Jcrew Smiley Tongue

What card are you talking about?

Each Comenity card seems to have it's own CLI rules and even within the rules I think I have started to figure out with each card I find small variations.

Re: Comenity Credit Increase Button

I have the total rewards visa. I hit the button before getting the card in the mail and went from 3.5k to 5k right away. I had to wait 3 or 4 months before it would give me an increase (to 6.2 k) no love since then. I try every few weeks. It's been all sp's for me but ymmv.
