Comenity VISA and Inquiries

One  question if I may. Comenity would pull EQ for Sportsmans Guide Visa if I understand correctly. I have 3 HP in the last 6 months on EQ.

I also have 11 HP that are 13 months old.

AAoa 1.7 yrs. Total length of credit 4.8 years.

Are you sure those inquiries that are 13 months old would not matter?  Any other Sportsman's Guide application tips would help too. Thanks very much for your help.

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

Comenity is not that crazy over inquires. Would try to get the "pop up" SCT first before doing a HP for it. Be sure you put the "membership" in the basket first, then merchandise, then check out...the pre approval pop up should appear then..

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

I think you'll be fine with Comenity.  I had 11 & got approved for Overstock with a 16k SL.  SP also.  Go for it!  Smiley Wink

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

I just got the Total Rewards card and was it was a pre-approval aka pop-up and suprised it was actually a EXP HP hit which I wasn't to happy about, at least I got a decent SL.. So not always EQ.. Something to keep in  mind as well.  Exp Score was in the 690's for referene.  Pre Approved for Virgin America as well pop-up,  but no need for that Visa as no airports next to me and scared of another EXP pull Smiley Tongue

Any of the Visas from the SCT are now HPs even if you get the popup preapproval

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

Thanks everyone!! Is AAoA ever an issue with Comenity? (AAoA 1.7 yrs here)

Do they ever decide you have too many cards with them? Is that an issue in apping for their Visa? I have 4 or 5 Comenity store cards and a Comenity capital store card, but no Comenity visas.

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

Also - I did apply for the Sportsman's Guide Visa on 3/16 2015 and was denied.

My score has jumped proabbly 46 points since then and is now around 718.

Is it too soon to reapply in July?

I think it would be Ok, its been over 90 days, and I would recommend the SCT, adding the Buyers Club membership first and maybe another small item or two.

I got it on 6/2 and it was a SP.

Re: Comenity VISA and Inquiries

Thanks asbinjax! Is the major number 90 days? just wanetd to make sure I didn't have to wait 6 months. Please let me know.

I've tried the SCT about 100 times over the past 4 months with Sportsman's Guide and just can't get it to work. I am opted out of prescreened offers so that is probably why.
