Discover seems like a good option .. They seem to like thin files.. Like another poster said don't keep racking up those HP's for no gain..

Discover is a good no FTF card. However, I would want a visa or MC as backup when traveling internationally. Cap1 is the obvious choice. The OP may need to app for the QS1 instead of the QS/Venture. I am no expert on NFCU, but I think it would be an easy approval if the OP qualifies for membership.
I don't think Chase counts AU cards for credit history. I have heard of people being approved for the Freedom as their first card, but I don't know if they still do so. I heard the old trick of keeping 10k in a Chase account doesn't work any more.
