Re: Credit Card

Discover seems like a good option .. They seem to like thin files.. Like another poster said don't keep racking up those HP's for no gain..

Edit: Mom could cosign if you and her trust each other? It's how I got started..

Re: Credit Card

Discover is a good no FTF card.  However, I would want a visa or MC as backup when traveling internationally.  Cap1 is the obvious choice.  The OP may need to app for the QS1 instead of the QS/Venture.  I am no expert on NFCU, but I think it would be an easy approval if the OP qualifies for membership.

I don't think Chase counts AU cards for credit history.  I have heard of people being approved for the Freedom as their first card, but I don't know if they still do so.  I heard the old trick of keeping 10k in a Chase account doesn't work any more.

Re: Credit Card

Chase may have said "no soup for you" for THAT CARD..

My opinion- IF you are a Chase banking customer, try for either the Freedom, or, if you have Amazon Prome, the Amazon Prime Visa from Chase
Both SEEM to have less stringent UW and seem to be fairly easy to be approved for. Then, 9-12 months later, apply for the CSP
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Re: Credit Card

And, if you are declined for one of those 2 cards, call the backdoor }, do a recon. Chase is pretty good with that!
