I have middling scores (710 FICO 8s) and got approved this week and last for three new cards (Disco 8K, Regions 5K, BBVA unk SL). It's been almost a year since I opened a card and I was looking for one for a balance tranfer and one for a long 0% apr and ended up getting the third for the SUB and because, well, it feels good to get approved. Haha
Amex also gave me an auto CLI and an offer to upgrade my BCE to BCP. Citi and a Disco (I have an older IT) are offering 0% BT deals, though for only 6 and 9 months. Overall, I haven't felt the pinch from the financial downturn but it definitely motivated me to apply now rather than waiting until May like I was going to.
