Credit One Bank (myFICO Credit Card Center)

At the top of every page appears an ad for Credit One Bank, with an 'Apply Now' button.  Members who know better warn those new to myFICO to avoid this card like the plague, to not touch it unless wearing a bio hazard suit, and to not even look at it except as a reflection in a mirror.  Does there need to be an ad for it?  Only curious, don't mean to step on anybody's toes.

Well the reason websites such as MyFico and CK advertise is because they make commission if you hit that button and do the application.

While many members warn against it and have had terrible experiences I've read some who actually don't think it's as terrible as all that. Probably a lot more than we read about because they're afraid of saying they have it and getting 15 replies telling them it's the worst card in the world and they need to get rid of it. Whether it's the right choice for somebody or not, I don't know but not every single post on here is negative. A lot of people have gotten it, kept it for a year and built some credit history (at whatever cost) and spring boarded off it. What's comfortable and right for some isn't necessarily so for someone else.

Re: Credit One Bank (myFICO Credit Card Center)

The fees are really bad, but I was in a position where 2 banks denied me a secured. Keep in mind I only tried banks that i knew graduate the Cards. later I learn Capital One does not convert Card but with history with their security program you could snatch up the regular Card in a smaller amount of time then a graduation cards program's time if that makes sense

Get Credit one only if you cannot get a secured card and store cards are not really an option

Makes sense. Just because I was fortunate enough to not need that option, some or many may not be. Well said.
