Re: Credit limit increase and other questions

you did the CLI online and then called EO and still no response? how long has it been? yeah I did it online they say 2,3 days and it's been one week! I guess they are slow to everyone huh? hmm should I keep waiting or go ahead and call the EO?   then btw how many days have it been for you?

EO number 800-955-1455,  they say call and ask for a manual review, soft pull they will get back toyou in a week. ask higher than your highest card and say you will accept less.

Re: Credit limit increase and other questions

Last month when I requested a CLI on the Capital One site I originally got the 7-10 message. Not sure if this different than the 3 day message but I tbought I was declined as well. I logged in a week later to see a 3k CLI.
Last week I reached out to the EO as my account just turned 4 and was charged a $60 AF on ~1/20 and was recently only upgraded from the Platinum to QS1 when I wanted the noAF QS. I was seeking a AF refund, upgrade to QS and another CLI increase to 5k. Talked to them Monday and got my AF refunded and upgraded to QS. My CLI is under review and was told it could take 5-7 days so 3-5 days now. With just getting a CLI increase on 1-27 I think I should of maybe waited but it took 4 years to get from $500 to $3.5k

It is different. The 7-10 day message means they're considering it. The 2-3 day message means a decline.

Re: Credit limit increase and other questions

got another question last year I applied for an am ex card, thenI checked credit report the am ex's card history started from 10 years ago. then I recalled that I actually had an am ex before.  but I applied the new am ex card last year they don't go by last year? they see I had a card and go by that?

because I also had a citi card before, so if I apply for a new citi card the card history won't start the day the application is approve does it start from the old card? and I guess it apply for any citi card I don't need to apply for the one I had before right? if that's the case I gonna apply for a new citi card!

also the new am ex card I got is the costco am ex card, if later I am not a costco member no more they will cancel the card automatically. I don't want that since that card is one of my oldest credit card history. so before I stop costco membership I guess jsut apply for another am ex card to keep the history right?

It's called backdating, and Amex is the only one that does it. Won't happen with Citi. Don't know about the Costco card, but I'm sure somebody else will.

Re: Credit limit increase and other questions

well I called the capital one EO and got CLI from 500 to 12k lol, such big increase. one other card I got is 17k and I asked for 20k and accept less. got the card with them for 10 years and never used the card and they never increased it.  lol 500 to 12k that's a lot!!!  thanks for all your help guys!!  for CLI is it soft pull for all cards or it depends? (also called EO on wed, they say they will get back to me by secure msg in 7 days. Friday I logged to my account and saw the limit was increased so you guys can check your account it's faster than waiting for their call/msg I guess)

For normal average cards I think the max limit is it 25k? after that they need some proof of income and it gets hassle etc? so I guess the max will be 25k for average people is that right and hard to get after 25k

So every half year you can ask for CLI right?  do you ask for 50% increase or how do you ask for as much as you can. and the strat is it the same for every card or it's different from card to card? like for capital one if you don't get approved online you call EO, the same for other cards and how much to ask? (which way is better do it online or call) always accept less than you ask for right? or you are back to the original credit limit. and also ask for product upgrade?  thanks

Re: Credit limit increase and other questions

weird 7 months ago  (for capital one CLI)    I did what you told me it worked. but today I called the EO and they trnasfered me to another dept to further assist me, then that dept told me they don't do manual review over the phone, then I told them 7 months ago I did online got denied, then call EO and got the CLI, then they checked my account transfered me to another dept. then that dept told me not everyone can do CLI manual review over the phone, usually you do CLI online or phone automatic message system. but my account is eligible for over the phone CLI.  weird last time I didn't go through all thsoe,  maybe I never used the card so they don't want to give me CLI?

so they will usually call or email me? or msg in the webiste site msg thing?
