If all your cards are reporting 0% your score will go down, not up.  Just FYI

Re: Credit report hasn't updated in 23 DAYS....

It is hard to synchronize all 3 CRA's........seems some lenders report to all 3 on same date.....some don't or the CRA just take their time updating.   Just because one CRA shows zero balance oesn't mean they all wll.  Also paying off a financed acct doesn't have the same effect as paying off a credit card.

Like somebody said previously a 0% utilization is not a good thing. The sweet spot is between 1% and 5%

Re: Credit report hasn't updated in 23 DAYS....

The score will go down if they are going from like 2% or 4% util to 0% but how do you know he isn't going from 50+% to zero because that would make your score go up..

Where are you getting your info from to know your reports haven't updated (my fico, ck etc)and then we can give you some more guidance.

Re: Credit report hasn't updated in 23 DAYS....

My util fluctuates between 1-3%.  My scores are at their highest at </= 1%.  When I went up to 2%, my TU dropped 10 points.  Not that I'm counting, I'm in the garden for a while, I'll play the 1-9 trick when necessary to bring my scores up.

There is no one right or wrong answer to this. While some say 1-5% utilization works well for them others say 7 or 8% brings the best result.

Each person needs to experiment over several months to see what seems to help them the most.

As for me I've had 1% utilization for as long as I remember.
