So i pulled the trigger on the csr app in the branch. The rep told me the application went to pending and that i will get a letter in a couple of days. The rep said that the applications in branch always go to pending. Wondering if anyone else had this experience when apping and if it turned out to be an approval? I'm at 4/24 or 5/24 depending on if my ink plus is counting. Was worth taking the inq instead of wondering what could have been.
I applied for a CSR in the branch and was told that it is pending and they will send a letter. The girl there flat out claimed it always goes to pending. This does not sound true to me. I don't normally app in the branch but I see people claiming instant approvals in branch. Maybe they were preapproved? I know the CSR is no longer subject to preapprovals. Is there a way I can folllow-up on the status of my chase app without triggering someone to take a closer look at my file? I thought I remember there being an automated line you could just call in?

Try this number 800-436-7927
They have an automated application status line, 1-888-245-0625; however, that only tells you that the application is pending.
Are you a current Chase customer? If so, go to your online account management, log in, go to the "Customer Center" tab, click that tab, then on the righ hand side, under Open a New Account, you will see "Check My Application Status" but this may only work if you applied for the card online. Worth a shot though.

That number is not automated. Someone live picked up right away. I had to hang up!

Yea that's the recon number I believe, the automated number is 800-436-7927
I called the automated number and got the two week message. Is that good, bad or neither? I'm specifically concerned about a 5/24 denial.

LOLZ sorry about that! I was in the middle of editing my post when you must have seen the first one.

The two week message is neutral from the anecdotal evidence I have read. So you still have a shot!
more than half of apps in the branch that are going to be approved are instant approvals. If I were you I would call the back door number as it was likely routed for manual review.
