Re: totally serious, is dcu just winging it?

sorry for not being clear.  simply stated, how can one be approved for something based on a condition?

I guess my bad for not vetting it out better, DCU:  do you require returns from the self employed?  lol - nfcu and penfed both gave me $25K cards instantly without anything.  penfed gave me a $64K car loan, yes secured, but still no poi.  ditto with pnc, $66k unsecured bloc with nothing.  guess I learned my lesson to dive into the details more before taking the jump

Reminder - You're Still CONDITIONALLY Approved for a Loan with DCU! ->-> still is more accurate to me

CONDITION - means there are requirements to complete the process.

Could be simple ID, memebership approval, talk to the LO, etc.

In your case it's 1040's for 2 years.

It's their product, their process, their rules.  Some CU's are a PITA and others aren't.

Maybe they don't see it as a big deal for you, a credit seeker, to provide documents that are presumably already in your possession.

It's not really in the league of "if you buy a new car before closing on your house, we're going to withdraw the funding for your mortgage".

right.  in my world if I see something like the below inside of a membership app with no conditions surrounding it I take it at face value.  the wording on the subject line of their emails say `approved' and then a condition is embedded within the body of the email.  the ideas they are putting in writing cancel each other out to me.  glad I will never app again this decade.  as you said, their $ their rules.

you are right, the experience perhaps just rubbed me the wrong way only because my pnc experience was the opposite and with far more exposure to the lender.  I am really into sheltering what little privacy I have left, no facebook, no twitter, vpn's on everything, etc.  returns are just not going to happen for a $5K card or really any card.  now that pnc has tired a virtual wallet to my bloc I really would just like them to return my hp if at all possible and move on.  I dont mind writing letters to try and get stuff done, nothing ventured nothing gained

That's how I felt about HSBC because if you state you make anything over 80K they want POI. Then they argue it's because they're a "global bank" when the real response should be "because we got caught money laundering for cartels and need verification since we got fined $1B"

Re: totally serious, is dcu just winging it?

You’re being ridiculous really. Credit apps are ALL conditional. Not a single one is ever guaranteed. I don’t find it even remotely unreasonable for a CU to offer you a $20K credit card in exchange for your taxes and obviously your $5K offer would have been contingent on POI as well.

Also you might want to edit out the application number in your image.

you would not be the first person to say I am ridiculous so I am down with that ha-ha.  slider said it best, Mav, you must have soloed under a lucky star.  I did the edit but why did I do it, what good does an app do anyone?  ridiculous lol

EDIT, the thing that actually irks me is they dont respond to anything.  one upload and 2 emails - nothing.  they are the ONLY lender that I have gotten zero back from.  I will stick to my winging comment

You never want to put personally identifiable information on a forum, you never know who is reading and what they're capable of.

As for DCU, my opinion of them is about in the middle right now. I had to go through POI verification with them too but they did it all over the phone with me. They seem to really be a lot more responsive with phone calls. When their bill pay was refusing to recognize that I was registered and I got forced to email, it literally took days for them to get back to me and the vendor actually had fixed the problem two days before they sent me the last email to make sure it was fixed.

I wouldn't personally waste my time trying to fight for an HP back but that's up to you.

honestly after all the motorcycle, karting and car wrecks I have had I dont think a loan # is going to be my undoing lol.  how do you do poi over the phone?  a doc that I can write in 10 min is not a waste of my time.  its like road rash on a wheel or a fender bender, I like to get whatever I can whole as fast as I can.  its one of the great things that money and sometime time can do.  yeah, they do like to talk.  prob is I like it all in writing so there is that.  from my experience with pnc i literally changed banks this week, kind of hard to believe.  I am a sucker for excellent customer service.
