Regarding the HP for the CLI preapproval, this is 1 of the many times that they messed up my credit report. They did this with the CLI preapproval literally a year ago to the date. I had a preapproval on the site, but they did a HP. They removed it, though. It also affected other DCU members. The way that it was explained to me, it had something to do with my preapprovals not being updated in all of their system bc I applied just around midnight (I had been waiting for that CLI
).
I actually came here today to see if others had the same issue that I had either last night or early this morning. When I checked the DCU site, some of my preapprovals had disappeared. I checked later, and they were back, but with better terms.
To date, they're still my highest CL and I LOVE their easy access to cash advances. You can transfer it straight to your ck acct. Same rate as your purchases. And, their yearly 0% BT offer with no BT fees is great. This is why I keep the card.
Thank you @cr101 I appreciate that info.
I was debating freezing my EQ and then pulling the trigger on this but I don't need it at the moment so was also debating letting it sit. This month...or I should say March, I opened some new accounts and one just posted to the CB's today so I was waiting to see how my score may move over the next 30 days. No change from the INQ's to my score but thinking the new account might. Appreciate understanding your experience with DCU.
@AllZero wrote:I don't have the card. From what I've read they offer annually, 6 month BT promos. Seems like a solid card.
Early each January they extend until January 31 a 0% APR no-fee offer through your July statement date. They even did it this year.

Thanks @coldfusion
This keeps getting better and better!
@cashorcharge Inspired by your post, I had to check my DCU portal. Only thing I was pre-approved prior was a $2,000 Quick Loan. Been a member since late 2019, so it's been a long wait.
ETA DCU did offer me a up to $5,000 SL CC at time of membership open. I guess that would be considered a pre-approval.
Lucky you OP getting that SP approval. I just got my Plat card back in OCT 2020 and am making that BT use from 85% ult before 6 months are out. So far I am down to getting 4600/8000 left on the card, but I would love that SP you have

WOOHOO!!!!! That's terrific @AllZero Are you going to proceed?
They generally hold their offers open for the full 3 month duration and recycle them at the next quarterly offering so as long as there isn't any significant change in inq/new accounts/utilization increase you shouldn't feel any sense of urgency to act, though it sounds like you're already in that mindset.
