I dont feel bad now. i heard they were a great company I was actually referred. it was just bizarre that 7 inquiries are too many inquries for an approval.

Re: DCU VISA PLATINUM STORY

So where did you end up going instead? (Or did you even?)

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall on the DCU end of that phone call when they're informed their waffling lost them over a million dollars in deposits in a matter of minutes.

Re: DCU VISA PLATINUM STORY

That's why I transfer such an obscene amount, so they wouldn't decline me as proof that i have the means to pay it back. I guess when i called they just look at the credit app and never look at what i deposited. until I said close my account, they started singing another tune.

I went to United Nation Federal Credit Union open an account and applied for their elite approve but credit limit is being verified waiting for a response. I did have to send in w2, Corporate 1125-E, my last primary bank account statement, and drivers license. I really dont have a scoring model on them yet but my score is above 700 at equifax, 8 inquiries, no baddies, 2 new accounts. but they have only 3 cards and their credit limits is up to 50K on two and 100K on the other one. So i think 700 and above would get you in the door, but I dont about salary or income needed. Maybe someelse can shed some light.

Re: DCU VISA PLATINUM STORY

Few questions.
1. Why would you have a check sent in the mail for 8 figures? I am shocked a Bank would do that considering fraud that could happen.
2. Why would you have that sum of money in a checking and savings account at not even 1% interest.
3. Do you want to buy some beach front property from me in Kansas?

Re: DCU VISA PLATINUM STORY

Question 1. Fraud could never happen in that case. I could write you a check for 500K right now and it will not be in your account until about 2 weeks. The bank will verify that I have the funds available. then contact me about the transaction. I would have to go into my local branch with my DL to sign a waiver authorizing a check of that amount. you will be hit with taxes because 75K is considered a gift and it's not tax.... the irs want 30% of that.......because the bank will contact the irs because its over 10K...........

Question 2. I have several bank accounts, saving accounts, money market accounts, investment accounts, cds, IRAs, and others.........

I don't look at interest rates. what for. Thats like finding credit card with no annual fee, because you don't want to dish out money to pay for just having the card......... because the annual fees adds up.......... and if you ever withdraw a large sum up cash, they will try to talk you out of it, and beside you don't get it right then. you will get a call when your cash is available, depending on the branch you are withdrawing from.
