My DD wanting a travel card for her upcoming trip to Spain, and decided after receiving mail offers for Amex Delta Gold, Chase Sapphire, and Capital One Venture X decided to go with the Chase point ecosystem. Couldn't find her offer so just cold app'd instead. Taken to a notice:
Then received an email saying:
Pretty sure this is a denial
DP's are:
Chase Credit Journey score was a 770 on Experian
TU and EQ are both the same 765 Vantage 3.0
2/24 with 4 total cards highest limit is her Nordstrom Store card $7500 others are $3500, $2500, $1500 (My guess as to why the denial)
CC total usage is at 9% with her apple card at 36%
One installment loan with NFCU 10% balance
Income 52k
The 30 day message is a neutral status and having transitioned into that state in itself is not a reliable predictor of the ultimate outcome.
OP - I wouldn't throw in the towel yet until you receive actual confirmation of the results. Definitely post any updates, if anything.
You should call them to expedite the review. I did that with the southwest card and it worked wonders.
Called the robo status line and it is saying 7-10 days will give it a few more days and if nothing changes we will call in and see.
Thanks for the replies and recommendations thus far.
You can certainly wait if you want but you can also call in now during weekday EDT business hours and ask if there is anything DD can do to help move the process along. They could just want to perform a simple verification that it was really DD that applied, or if it is a denial she can go ahead and request a recon and among other things explain to the analyst why she wants the card and how it will be used, etc.
Approved $10,000 SL!!
Had my DD call up the recon line to check the status and was immediately connected to an agent, after letting them know she recently applied and wanted to use the card for upcoming travel in a couple of weeks asked to see if there was anything holding it up. Was told they just needed to verify that it was a valid application and after confirming that, she was approved for $10,000 SL!
She's a very happy girl!
Thank you again to this community!
