[DECLINED]: BOA BankAmericard Graduation and 1-2-3 Rewards conversion

CC: BankAmericard Visa

Type: 100% secured

Age: 1 yr old

History: No missed payments; generally carried 10-15% of CL at statement date, then PIF. I have pushed through close to $9k in charges and payments in the last year.

Overall credit health: Rebuilding from serious delinqency (unsecured and medical) within the last 15 months, no missed payments in 12months (or any new account established 2015 and onward), and other open credit includes 1 secured and 1 unsecured CC and student loans (high balance).

FICOS: FAIR (630-650 range)

Graduation: Denied due to prior delinquent history (through backdoor AND EO number).

1-2-3 rewards conversion: Denied as was told could not be added to my card type. I would have to become unsecured before eligible.

I am a little disappointed. While I knew my past history would have some bearing, I also thought some consideration would be put towards my more recent payment history and management of the account, along with my long-term banking relationship with them. I will not attempt a graduation until next year or fund the account for CLIs. In the meantime, I'll continue fostering my relationship with Cap1 and use the BoA as my subscription / monthly bill card (and PIF to zero balance before statement cuts).

Re: [DECLINED]: BOA BankAmericard Graduation and 1-2-3 Rewards conversion

Don't feel too bad, my 99/500 secured card with them is 13 months old and still has not graduated either, and they also refused to PC it to the rewards card. So I have a useless secured card - sigh. But to be fair, I only used that card like 3 or 4 times since I opened it (hard to justify putting spend through it with no rewards). I haven't asked for graduation yet, and I probably won't (I'm stubborn). I have no baddies and my current scores are: TU 752, EX: 720, and EQ 733. Oh well; I'll give them another year to auto-graduate it, or else I'll close it before the next annual fee hits.

Hang in there a little longer, your baddies are still pretty recent, so give them some more time.

JustMe3, thanks for responding and also providing perspective. I'm lucky to have even gotten approved last year given what my scores/profile looked like at that time. Hopefully next year, with improvements in my credit profile and history with them, I'll be considered for graduation, or at least a conversion to 1-2-3 rewards.
