Re: 4506-T Form for Discover Secured?!

No it is a new job this year and my salary has jumped over 100% so I have not had a chance to submit new tax forms for this year yet. Either way I was a little distraught by this form and applied for a Nordstrom Visa which I was approved for almost immediately, with no security deposit. I am happy with how this little bump turned out Smiley Happy

Yes the security deposit was withdrawn last friday! I just called them and closed the account, at first they told me wait 2 billing cycles + 10 days for the check of my 300$. I raised hell and got it expediated to 1 week.

That is complete BS. I wouldn't put it up with that as well. They seriously expect you'd be ok with waiting over 2 months to get your security deposit back?

What makes Discover think they are so special? It's not like their cards are accepted everywhere like Visa and MC is... I often shop at places that refuse to deal with them.

You know if they really actually cared they could give you back your deposit the next day via a ACH deposit...

It seems like Discover is turning into garbage with insane requirements and no longer care. I thought Synchrony was bad...

Also congrats on the Nordstrom Visa approval Smiley Happy

This is really weird. I don’t feel comfortable with EQ having access to more information. They didn’t take care of what they had.

...aaaand there it is. That is my issue as well. If the info was going directly to Discover I would still not like it but would be more likely to comply. You toss Equifax in the mix? Hard pass.

@Morpho I’m happy someone gets it. I’m very uncomfortable with that.

Yep. Same here. I would totally let go of my $15,700 of cards with Disco before I would give EQ access to any more of my info and I don't even file taxes since my income is exempt -- I find even that to be too much info for them.

It does and do we REALLY know that info. would not be shared through their other entities bypassing something or another to give your info. to companies that could be linked to a network that's linked to companies that sell to CA's?  It just seems raw.

Discovery it card application requestin Irs Form 4506-T

I recently applied for a Discover it card and was approved for Credit limit of $500 today i received an email from Discover asking for Irs Form 45601-T tax years 2017 & 2018. I completed the request and then called coustomer service to see if i completed it corectly and was told  I did. I asked if this was to verify my income and was told yes, I aksed about the income because my wife didnt work in 2017 and started back in 2018 and has worked this year also so I provided both our income on the application which will be around $54,000 Represenitive told me that there is a precentage that they use and it could fall in the range above or below what I submited on the application. Does anyone know what the precentage is high or low and could this deny the application after being approved or could it change the limit approved for. was told this process cound take up to 14 Days to complete and that my card was in the mail already and that there was a hold on it at this time and to not activate it.

Thanks

Re: Discovery it card application requestin Irs Form 4506-T

It's a simple process.  They take the form and send it over to a processor and then they send it to the IRS and within a day or two they get the form back with your info.

The percentage could be 5-10% to account for guesses or bonuses etc.
