Love your badges! I’m totally copying them when I’m back at my laptop, lol!
Haha absolutely!!! let me know if you have trouble. It took me awhile but you should be able to get it. Just be to sure to use tiny url after copying and editing mine. The URL will end up way too big if you dont.
***Edit*** Nevermind looks like you got it! they look awesome!
@Brian_Earl_Spilner wrote:I would add in the original post how old first card is if there aren't any pre-approvals or if people haven't decided to get a 2nd card yet.
Done and done.
@Anonymous wrote:Hey All,
I am ecstatic about my new Amex HH Surpass I got 8/26 and have been using it via digital wallet since it has not even arrived yet. Wondering if you all who have multiple Amex cards can contribute some data points about how long it was after your first approval did the pre-approvals/ qualifications start rolling in?
Not gonna app soon or anything just wanted to know when to expect it and help others like me scouring the forum to get a mention of this topic.
Stuff that would be helpful:
1) Original Card and date of approval:
2) Time until new offers arrived on portal:
a) If none yet, then how old is your card now:
3) Original Card starting line:
4) New card if you apped the pre-approvals:
a) Or if you apped again without pre-approvals:
5) New card starting line:
6) Credit score (at original approval and if it was different upon new offers arriving):
7) Miscllaneous info/advice for all those looking to obtain multiple cards from AMEX in the future:
*** If this is not interesting to anyone else, feel free to close the thread. I just see random mentions of this but not a centralized DP list.
Thank you all in advance.
First amex I apped for was the BCE and was approved on may 13th this year. Sl $10,500, after 61 fays CLI to $25,000. The FICo score they gave was 739. I did not have any pre approval when I applied, but was instantly approved. Simce then or pre close to It I have been pre approved for any card I would want (which is none at this time. My ego would like the platnum, but the af does just not make sense for me).
I had previously been an AU on my father's amex BCE, but that was closed down when he passed away. Maybe since I was the one dealing with them on closing down the account, and paying off the final bill, it increased my internal rating in their system, expessialy since they had my info from being an au.

7) Miscllaneous info/advice for all those looking to obtain multiple cards from AMEX in the future:
- finally formy first preapp offer and it came via mail for the Delta Plat. Upon logging into website, preapps was listed for every card. first CLI req was done 2 months ago on Hilton. Delta card approved for only 5k last wed. after the first CLI, was hit with 3 emails req IV, and 4 mailers. Cards updated in signature to reflect after cl reallocation.
Anything else, feel free to ask!
Thank you all for the posts! This is shaping up to be a great and informative thread. Sounds like a lot of folks get the pre-approvals not too long after their first approval I love AMEX already! Although I only have one card that I very recently acquired I thought I would add mine in to keep things rolling.
1) Original Card and date of approval: Hilton Honors Surpass - 8/26/2019 (pre-qualified for delta gold skymiles but apped this instead)
2) Time until new offers arrived on portal: None yet
a) If none yet, then how old is your card now: 8 days
3) Original Card starting line: $1000
4) New card if you apped the pre-approvals: n/a (Hoping for Everyday with good limit for BT offer)

5) New card starting line: n/a
6) Credit score (at original approval and if it was different upon new offers arriving): EX 660 (others bureaus and current scores in sig)
7) Miscllaneous info/advice for all those looking to obtain multiple cards from AMEX in the future: As I am extremely new to AMEX in general, I was very interested to know when other pre-approvals would arrive. I have only been approved for 8 days and have been using the card heavily via digital purchases/apple pay (card has not even arrived yet). Excellent sign-up bonus from what I can tell, with 130k HH points and 1 free weekend night for $4k spend in 4 months.
Very happy to finally be a member of what I always considered the elite tier of cards. For others who may be looking into AMEX with similar scores and have yet to have any pre-approvals, I was approved with a borderline score and received a borderline limit but am happy none the less. No baddies on my report, just outrageous utilization the past year (or more) on all cards that has steadily been decreasing. So there is hope for us all.
An interesting and helpful note is that I always checked prequal with no luck, then I decided to sign up with their free (non-member) credit monitoring service in hopes of getting some sort of back door to pre-approvals. Turns out, this worked immediately. I signed up and checked through the portal and there it was, the delta gold skymiles "pre-qualified" offer. However, I did not need another airline card so decided to app for a similar tier cobranded card -- the Hilton Honors Surpass and was approved.
My goal is to get the EveryDay card because they have a great BT offer at the moment. However, even if I received a pre-approval today I do not think I would be given a meaningful limit to use for a transfer. So I will wait and see as my scores improve.
***TL/DR: If you have not been receiving prequals as someone looking to get in with AMEX for the first time, give their free credit monitoring service a shot and see what shows up on their offers page. Worked for me
