Day 14 of Chase Two Week Message - How long did it take for you?

I apped for two cards with Chase on 1/12.  One was turned down (Disney Visa) but the other (Freedom) has been pending with a 2 week notice now for, well, 2 weeks. Nothing in the mail or e-mail, no change on the status line.

I finally decided to call something other than the automated line this morning and was told by the CSR that it is still in review.  I was not told I needed to be transferred to the verification/fraud department, just that a decision had not yet been made.  She told me that if I didn't have an answer within a couple days, and I was in a hurry (not really, just want to know the outcome) I could call back and ask to speak with a credit analyst.  I know from reading here that talking to someone in lending could go bad so I'm not going to do that.

From reading these boards, I know that Chase can take a long time to approve or deny an app.   If you've been in the same situation with the two week message, how long did it take for them to get back to you with an answer?  And were you approved or denied?

If they want to transfer you to verifications, that's a very good approval indication. If you need have a lot of new accounts etc then you don't have to worry. It sounds like an approval if you call verification when they open in them morning! congrats!

I disagree. YMMV. Not everyone has the same outcome. The way I see it, it's as simple as calling, be(ing) polite and use(ing) your best verbal manners. That's it.

In my experiences, I have never had a bad conversation/experience when calling any type of customer service.

In fact, I always end with a, "when can we go to lunch" punch line at the end of every conversation -assuming it's a female that I talked to, of course Smiley Happy. Makes them laugh every single time! Never fails.

You could also ask a man out to lunch.  Make him so uncomfortable he gives you a CLI just to get you off the phoneSmiley LOL

I'd rather just wait it out. I know I can always call to recon if it's denied.   Was just looking for more data points on wait time/approval after a lengthy wait.
