I agree, if you're going to garden for two years, then go for it. My bk discharge is very fresh, very. I was approved last week with an $1,800 SL. APR is 23% (can't complain though), no AF, and the 5% cashback bonus. My scores are below, and they did pull EQ.

Edited to add: I did the Discover prequal, it offered the IT with 0% intro APR, no AF, and 5% cashback. When I actually applied it countered with the same card, just not the 0% intro APR.

I see what you are saying. My only thing is that I tend to see more people with thinner profiles getting approved and more padded ones not getting approved. I will hit the garden pretty good because I want to get better odds for getting a Slate or CSP in 2 years. I have a Slate that I am a AU (wife has a Slate and CSP and a 822 score) on but want one of my own in that 2 year time frame.

I don't really consider my profile "thin." Yeah, it's got the bk on it which made 6 of my 29 accounts report IIB. My credit history is 11 years old, my AAoA is 6.6. I had quite a bit of positive history reporting prior to BK (including 2 cc's that survived and then my student loans), which is the only saving grace I think I have that my scores aren't much worse than they could be. Anyways, just wanted to share some data points, obviously it's a YMMV thing. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Re: Debating Discover card before moving to the garden

Theres a third option... The thing with Discover is you can ask for APR decreases AND CLIs.....

If you want the card now, you could apply for the secured offering... Now hear me out on this.. its has the full rewards and benifits of their regular card and does graduate...

(there have been some folks who had issues with this but it tends to happen in 12-14 months)

Youll have to wait for the APR reduction untill after it graduates...

Wouldnt be a bad pay in full card...  Yeah you have cards that are not secured.. ...but if you want a discover....

If it doesnt work out fast enough, (And they dig their heels on graduating)  you could just close it and get a refund after a year or so..

In Jan I apped for the Discover card and was declined but can't remember what for. I can't rmember if it was for inquiries or score. I had a lot of inq and score was under 650 on 2 bureau reports. I'm planning a trip to the garden for 12-24 months and debating if I want to try and snag a Discover before I go though I think they hate me lol.

Now I am over 650 on 2 socres (most recent in my siggy), have about $30k in available credit on my cards and 22% utilization on the cards listed in my signature (except my new Jetblue MC). I have a BK discharged 2 years ago with no hiccups since. Now i am, considering the Discover card before I go to garden as they grow pretty good.

Look here to the person who got Jetblue first on the forum via cold app.... Lol

@discover is iffy and in most cases pulls EQ which in this case is a bit low @ 637

@670 I may have said go for it but I truly think it's in your best interest to select a plot of land and shovel in the GC for @ least 9 months and then assess your options

LMAO......still shocked over that one. Surprisingly I got an offer in my mail box before I went to work yesterday and decided to go ahead and try with the offer. Approved with a Discover It card! Im seriously done for the next 2 years and when I try the beast known as Chase and their CSP card!

Thanks for all of the assistance. I was going to wait until I got the offer. It just worked out for me tbis time I guess.
