Debating about Southwest Premier

I received an email offer for this card with 50K points on $2000 spend in 3 months. The bonus is that I get a $100 statement credit with my first purchase which would cover the $99 annual fee.

Now that Southwest is flying out of Long Beach, I feel like I might be flying Southwest a lot more than I currently am although it used to be my primary airline.

My concern is that I won't qualify due to DTI (low income, high student loan debt) and lack of high limit cards. Thoughts?

What are your scores looking like? While DTI and income are important, scores go a long way as well. Also any baddies or negatives, are viewed more adversely than student loan debt or DTI since a lot of people have significant CL's compared to their income.

Scores are all 700+. Only negative is a 60 day late from about 2 years ago. I've had the Freedom with them for 3+ years and took a HP to bump it to 1K last year from $300 which was granted upon recon. The Slate was approved on the same recon. The analyst I spoke to at the time said something about having to adjust my internal portfolio to account for my student loans being in IBR, hence my semi-reluctance on this application.

Well your scores are good enough, I get your concerns with your student loans, but considering your scores and history with chase it might be worth a HP to find out if you can spare one. You have experience in the recon process if it comes to that. It's your call though and I wish you good luck if decide to go for it.
