Debating on which card to apply for

Smiley HappyI have been gardneing since january when I opened Citi Costco Anywhere and Sears Retail Card. I want to only apply for one  new card in July as inquiies drop off. I am debating on which would be me best move at this time. I am highly considering Barclay Ring or Forward, Citi Thanks You Car, Walmart and either Lowe's or Home Depot. Or maybe a line of Creidt. WHich would be best and worth taking the HP for? My TU is currently 744 EQ is 746 and EX is 744. I currently have 8 open accounts and one closed auto loan. My average account age is just over 2 years now so I only want to apply for one and then return to the garden. I have 1 inquiry on both TU and EQ and 5 on EX. My UTI is under 1% currently. I haven't hadn't been using credit much just the auto loan which I paid off in 2013. No baddies. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

Why a Walmart card? With your scores there are so many better options out there (NON Synchrony products)
NFCU $60.4k/PenFed $22.5k/Commerce $15K/53 $11K/Synovus $14K/BBT $11K/CapOne $12K/DCU $7.5K/BMO $7.5K/Chase $14.5k/Cabelas $10K/ and many many more!
Total CL $398600, plus car and RV loan.
Ooh. Ooh. Getting closer to that $500K mark!

Apply/App for a credit card that you will use. You may desire a top tiered Visa, MC, Amex, or Discover. For support if you shop retail, get a card to your most visited store.

Rewards, benefits should drive the card(s) you app for. Remember each card has a purpose and there is a purpose for every card. Once you decide what you really need, search out cards within brands to find a fit for you personally. Good luck in your journey.

Updated scores 3/7/21 TU 849, EQ 829, Ex 818 (all Fico scores) Remember the Three P's: Pay early in Full, Pay on Time, Patience

Since you already have a nice portfolio of credit cards, I would suggest a personal line of credit. PenFed would be a good place to start.

The Barclays Ring is my favorite, but the new Barclay Ring card is different than the one I have; it has higher interest.

The Cash Forward, which I also have, is really not so great; much prefer my Quicksilver.

Among my favorite cards that I have are my PenFed Promise and Langley Select for versatility, and my Chase AARP and Amazon Prime for cash back.

PenFed has a good 2% cash back card, but  to get the 2% rate you need to maintain a checking account, and their checking account requires either a $500 minimumbalance or $500 in monthly direct deposits to avoid a $10 per month service charge.

Re: Debating on which card to apply for

I am with SJ, run to PenFed.

1 EQ pull and back in the garden. They have some great credit cards and personal loans.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I went ahead and decided to apply for the Barclay Ring Mastercard. I received the 7-10 day message response. Now today 9 days later, I recieved my approval email. Its back to the garden for me now until 2018.

Thanks! I have added PenFed to my lisy for 2018. That seems like an excellent card to add to arsenal of CRC's.
