Declined Capital One CLI - Now I can't get it?

A couple of weeks ago, Capital One offered me a small CLI of $750 to bring my total limit to $6,000. I declined it.

Now when I hit the CLI button, I get the "Our credit specialists are reviewing your request," message.

So much for Capital One's track record of getting better increases with the second CLI request.

Did something in your profile change since then? It's always possible they are going off of a different SP, and the decision has changed. Although many report success with the "decline smaller, wait for larger CLI" method, it's still going to ultimately depend on your file. If something changes that Capital One doesn't like (or even if not) the increase won't just automatically be a larger offer.

Since it was just a "couple of weeks ago", you just have to keep trying. Capital One has changed some of their policies and I hope it hasn't affected the CLIs also.  Hang in there.

Update:

I recently received a raise, and put in my new salary on the CLI. I get the generic denial.

If I put in my old salary, I still get the $750 increase.

How strange.

Did you change your income info in the account section with the raise? If not, I would recommend changing it there first. Wait a couple minutes or days and see if that help. These things are computer operated so maybe the difference in numbers is throwing the computer off. Good luck!

Entering different income and getting different replies to a CLI is def. something I had never heard of from them. Wonder what gives there

This same thing happened to me. Off and on I had bee n hitting the button and declining, then about 2 weeks ago, I suddenly got the same message. No response or anything. A few days ago I tried it again, and it went back to the same offer.
