First post on these boards! I'll preface it by saying that I did a lot of research on these boards before applying and felt pretty confident when I finally decided to go through with it.
Unfortunately, I was denied and was informed that they do not have a recon process. I'm not sure what happened, I guess I'll wait for the letter. My TU is my strongest report. It was a 682 before the Amazon inquiry, more than halfway through a car lease, Cap1 Unsecured $58 balance on a $300 line, a paid off on-time auto loan and paying on-time student loans. The bad news is two medical baddies from years ago about to drop off. I had been reading of peeps on here getting approvals for pretty high limits with 610-660 TU FICO's also with baddies so I figured I would look pretty strong.
Was the rep I spoke with on the phone correct? Is there no recon process for them? Has anyone had any luck calling again and asking for a recon? I don't really want the card to use, I just wanted another account to garden with so even a low limit would be fine with me. She recommended I apply again in 30 days, but I'm probably not going to since now there's another inquiry and my TU isn't going to improve drastically in a month.
Any advice or suggestions for the future are welcome!

Synchrony doesn't do recons, however I have seen maybe 1 person on here that got it pushed through. Unfortunately you'll have to wait 30 days to reapply. As far as shopping car tricks, I tend to stay away from those myself personally because it's just going to be a card I will end up with and never use. Many times the intial CL on them aren't very high and other lenders will look at that and follow with their intial CL they give you.

Welcome! Sorry about your denial. Synchrony doesn't recon, unfortunately. You can always try the shopping cart trick with Comenity cards... just search shopping cart tricks and you'll find plenty of information on which cards do this, how to do it, etc. As for your denial, you do seem like a strong candidate for this card. I was just approved for this card at the end of November with my TU score being around 680 with no baddies and low utilization.
I think it is the baddies that did it for me for Amazon. I also have very low AAoA, so that might have hurt, too. I got a few cards from Comenity for stores I like to help boost my util and get some more accounts in good standing. I'll reapply for Amazon once my score gets over that 700 hump and some baddies fall off.
I am just dying to app for a Synchrony card. My TU still shows the FP Charge off as a derog, but with a zero balance. TU Fico is 632. Last app was Aug 2014 when Barclay did HP for CLI. TU report was frozen until middle of December. My AAofA on TU i think is 1 Yr and 7 months. 10 active accounts and loan. Utilization is reporting at 34% but once all accounts report....the Util drops to 29%.
What are the chances Synchrony will pull TU only and whcih card is the best to get.
Previously app twice for walmart, paypal, JCP and a few others only to remember that the security freeze was in place. All denial letters reflected the security freeze.
Any advice?

besides lowes and the furniture cards I have never known Sync not to pull TU!
and I only add lowes in the list because lately they seem to randomly pull 1 of the 3 but still usually more TU then anything.
