Re: Declined for Chase FU

The Freedom Unlimited and Freedom are both good choices if you'd like one of the Sapphire cards in the future. Simply bank the points in the meantime until you can move them over.

Chase really likes to see a year of history. Those who are approved with less than that are fairly rare exceptions. I'd go for the card during month thirteen of your history. I'd also hold off on applying for any other cards, partly because of 5/24 and partly because they're sensitive to recently opened accounts.

In the meantime, go ahead and recon as much as you'd like. Maybe there's still a chance that you'll get lucky on this app. Smiley Happy

Re: Declined for Chase FU

Didn't read the rest of the replies .Not sure if anyone told you this but chase likes a year of credit history .So id wait til your accounts are a year old not just 6 months. You already took the HP so you need to call and ask for reconsideration .But if it fails I wouldnt apply until you have a year of history .

So tempting, especially being on this forum seeing everyone with their stories and cards. I MUST RESIST for now...

I'll give Chase a call tomorrow to recon.

Re: Declined for Chase FU

I'm sorry you got declined OP, I know how disappointing that can be....

I gotta share a funny anecdote though....

In reading the title of this thread I read it as:  "Declined For Chase,,,,,,,,,  F.U."

Guess it shows my mind's just slightly in the gutter.. LOL

Re: Declined for Chase FU

Called the recon line and now the only thing stopping me from being approved is a physical address. They need me to bring proof of address. The address I use for my checking/saving and my cc app is my mailing address(PO box). Due to some circumstances, I don't have a physical address at the moment.

OK, I have to ask:

How do you eat? Are you one of the lucky few that gets to eat at work for free?

Re: Declined for Chase FU

Hooray, after a few recon phone calls they approved me! A few reps mentioned they'd like to see a longer credit history but I didn't give up so Kept calling and got one rep who wanted to verify my address. Went into the branch, had them scan my ID, called back and got the approval. SL is only $500 but I'll take it. Thanks for everyone's feedback. I'll be gardening for now.
