Did you burn WaMu in BK?
Nope i didnt, opened after. i think around 2006, loved WaMu. That might be it, never occured to me. Chase would have seen BK13 on credit reports in 2008/2009. BK 13 fell off report (i think) 2008/2009
I have opened a closed cc (starter cards to re-establish) between 2005 - 2010, no default
@lovelife2 wrote:Yes new bank account was included part of denial (someone asked earlier). When i opened WF back in May i got emai from Experian i had a new banking account post to report.
A few have asked to consider applying for Amazon Store Card, and I thought about it and elected not to at this time. I am going to the "Garden". Its serene, peaceful and my favorite place. I would like to get a new cc cause it been years since i had one, maybe few years
Need a new car next 6 months to a year, so that is my focus. thanks.
I got asked by them about a late from 1999 during a mortgage process 15 years later. Late was with WaMu.
Told them I'll walk out if anyone mentions it again. They didnt.
I dont really know if that's the "real" reason, or if they are in a "watch what happens" mode at the moment.
I'm really sorry about your denial. I cannot remember right now if you did a recon or not.
If you didnt, I'd give it a try, you already took HPs, so might as well try.
Mystery might be solved.
I think you have a good chance at recon approval.
@lovelife2 wrote:Mystery might be solved.
That could definitely do it.
@M_Smart007 wrote:Sorry for your denial OP.
I know it stings.
I have had plenty.
Like falling off a bike, you get back up and ride again.
As one person eluded to, just part of the process.
I have seen perfect 850 scores denied, and 580 approved.
Some things in credit will never make sense.
Don't take it personally. Sure we have feelings and get hurt,
No one likes rejection, but it is just a part of applying.
Have I ever been upset at a lender, ****bleep**** yes,
I just learned not to take it personal no more.
Bottom line, it is just business.
Superbly articulated @M_Smart007!
OP, We've all been there and, somehow, we manage to get over it. My anger at Chase almost 3 years ago?--POOF!--has magically dissipated.
FYI chase doesn't have a recon for personal CCs, only business... We did in the past- 3-4 years ago. Now all you're getting on an old recon number is a specialist that just tells you why you were denied. Not reconsidered.

I would not bet against the advice given here ...
