Denied CSR and Freedom even after recon

I recently applied for the CSR and was denied due to delinquent items on my report. I have disputed with them and still currently in the process. CS all above 710. Tried again for the Freedom and was also denied due to late payments back in 2015. How long am I supposed to wait to try and be approved? Otherwise, what are some other cards out there with a high approval rate for travel rewards?

Try again after the delinquent item(s) are gone. Chase is fickle. I was approved last week for my first Chase card (CFU) with a late in Jan '18.

But Chase doesn't just use FICO scores. They have an internal algorithm called CARS. So good scores alone won't cut it. Good luck on your next try.

Re: Denied CSR and Freedom even after recon

What are your current cards & their limits?

After decline, Chase seems to prefer waiting 6mo to reapply... even if you get the delinquents removed. They say Chase doesn't want to be your first card, and they want at least one year history with your first card. It's very unlikely they will give a larger SL than your highest CL.

My first decent limit was Amex. They seem to be more friendly to newer users. I don't know about their stance on delinquents. You might try their prequal page. But I've read not getting prequal offers doen't mean you won't be approved.

+1

And yes, not getting a prequal is not the end. I've never had one.

Re: Denied CSR and Freedom even after recon

They flat out told me that part of the reason was becuase of my past derogatory marks which includes a 2 charge offs with them. Here I am still trying to defend my side because I am in a better position financially since that time (2015).

I also had amex - I've disputed that and it no longer pops up on all 3 of my credit bureaus. I'm wondering if I may have a better chance with them. Mind you, I just got declined now 2x in the past week due to tyring to get a chase card.

Okay. If you had mentioned in your first post you burned THEM, then the advice would have been to check the forums for something like"blacklist Chase".

Glad to see your financial position is better. However, Chase has a long memory. Some folks have gotten back in with them.

Re: Denied CSR and Freedom even after recon

It is unlikely you will be approved for any Chase cards so my advise is to stop wasting your hard pulls.  Chase has a very long memory, and they will not be forgiving of TWO relatively recent chargeoffs.  Since you're now in a better financial position have you offered to settle with them?  Settling your debts wouldn't get you approvals but it would begin the countdown to removal of the derogatories from your credit report (5 or 7 years from Date of First Delinquency based on where you live).

I'm curious about your claim about "disputing"  Amex.  Were they also chargeoffs by Amex?
