Denied Chase FU recon tips?

So I app'd and got the dreaded 7-10 message, called and recon'd once and the guy told me that it's because my credit history isn't very long on my current cards (10 months on my longest card, 4 months on my second) asked if he could do anything and he rolled his eyes and said no.

Would it be worth calling the backdoor # again, hoping I get someone better and explaining that yes my longest card is only 10 months but that between that, my auto loan, and my second card that I have always paid my cards in full every month with no missed payment and never carry a large balance?

If not then i'll just garden for a few months and try them again in the new year, as I am in no rush for more credit, just wanna get my foot in the door with chase.

EDIT: To clarify he told me that the system flagged it as short credit history and he wouldnt be able to do anything even if he wanted too.

Before recommending if you should recon, what are your scores and what cards do you have?  Can you list the limits also?

The FU is a Visa Signature card and it has a $5k minimum CL. That was what I was told with a Chase Recon rep. You can certainly drop the CL below $5k, but that is the requirement at application. So most students do not qualify.

Re: Denied Chase FU recon tips?

My Freedom unlimited is not signature and started at 3k. Auto cli to 4k at 4 months. Have not heard of this card requiring 5k limit. It's been said many times about the csp though.

Thats incorrect.  There are people who have a $500 limit so the rep. is wrong.

I just relay what the rep said. He certainly could be wrong. I've seen UL card as Visa, not the Signature Visa.

Re: Denied Chase FU recon tips?

@BronzeTrader I have never heard of it being a visa signature only card, I read that a lot of people got started with very low limits on it.

Re: Denied Chase FU recon tips?

Fact: the Chase Freedom Unlimited is available as a Platinum or Signature version. You can often start with the Platinum version and as your CL equals $5K request to upgrade to the Signature version.

Re: Denied Chase FU recon tips?

Got the denial letter today, they pulled Equifax of 739 and denied for "not enough accounts opened long enough to establish a credit history"

Any chance that this can be recon? I've read conflicting reports.
