Denied Marriott Card & Questions

So I apped for chase ink plus and Marriott last Friday. I apped for ink plus in the morning and Marriott in the evening.

Well today I got a letter denying me for the Marriott and it gave me a 2 week message unless they switch which is something I have heard of happening which would then make it the 7-10 day message.

They said to many requests for credit or opened accounts with us.

Am I able to recon that? If so what should I say?

I believe I can get it switched to an approval but not sure what hat to say. I am willing to take another hard pull if nessesary.

Were you approved for the Ink?

Of course you can recon the Marriott denial.  As for what you say, you start off with 'My name is ....... and I recently applied for the Chase Marriott and I was apparently denied and the reason given was 'blah, blah, blah' and I want to see if there is anything I can to get the denial overturned"  From there you follow the lead of what the CSR says and be prepared to answer any questions that they might have with your credit report.  Be polite and don't be argumentative.

No i wasnt approved but by them sending the Marriott denial letter first times me that I am either approved or they need to verify info.

Should I wait till I am approved for the Ink Plus before I call to recon?

Probably be better to wait.  You don't want anything to risk the Ink approval.  You have 30 days from date of decline to recon.

Ummm I've been just sitting here waiting on my updates duh

Soooo congrats on the Ink head on over to the biz forum and post away 

Marriott you can now recon and I don't wish to find the news in the middle of the paper ..ha ha ha

Hey Journey I got approved for the Marriott this morning. It was super easy she was like hold on and then came back and said I was approved.
