I suggest you ... get a secured card or something better suited to your score, build that up, then pay that off on time every month and re apply.

@Anonymous wrote:I applied for the Delta Good Amex back in the beginning of Aug with a EX of 594 ( I know too low for Amex but tried anyway) and was denied. Reasons were low credit score, limited credit and blah blah reasons. I just applied again last week since my score has increased 40 points since then and now the denial reason was just low score and nothing else. Its still a denial but it seems a few more months and I may be in.
Sorry to hear. But you are doing yourself more harm than good in your quest to get the card. You are racking up hardpulls for nothing. The credit game is all about patience and strategy.
I suggest you wait a while until your profile improves considerably so that you have a higher chance of approval.
I agree. He also needs to try the Pre Qual sites, before wasting a HP

I too hate the "getting in the door" stuff. Stop trying every month and wait for your profile to improve significantly. Give it 3 months bare minimum, probably 6, before trying again. "Getting in the door" is IMO spread by people who lack patience to simply wait for the right time to apply.
THANK YOU!!!!

The above poster was rude but has a point. Its not a matter of pestering until amex caves in.
She said the same thing the last 5 posters already said, so the only thing she added was outright rudeness to the thread. I think he got the point, and that level of hostility is way inappropriate. If you can't communicate your message without veiled AND direct insults, try harder.
It's so comical how everyone is saying or assuming that I'm trying to get in the door. That I'm pestering and applying every 30 days and wasting hp after hp. I NEVER once stated that I was going to keep trying til I got approved. I know how to wait and that's what I'm doing. I was just posting an observation of my experience. If anyone here read all my posts, they would have seen that applying over and over was not even pay of my plan. I would have gladly taken everyone's advice if I was asking if I had a chance to "get in" soon or said that I was going to apply next month and see what happens. I never said that. All this negative stuff would have been avoided if people would read and understand what was being said. Thanks everyone, going to keep my mouth shut from now on and move on.
LOL this is funny! But on a serious note to OP Just give it some time. I have 13 Chase cards and i have to rely on my husbands Amex cards because I have WAY TOO MANY inquiries. I'm in your boat also and have to wait atleast 6-8 months till I can probaly be considered.
My scores now EQ-660, Trans-671 (Took a nose dive) and Experian- 681
Great job on the 40point increase!
