Re: Denied by Victoria's Secret...

If your inqs are 12 months or so old, your income and ratio can make some issuers over look that.. under 650 i wouldn't recommend Hard inqs, unless you income is over 40k with a few lines in good standing on your report.. over 650 use sound judgement.. under 675 1 inq every 6 months, under 700 1 ever 4 months is shakey but possible for basic cards or non branded cards like Victoria secrets sales overstock.. under 750 1 inq every 3 months, but never try more than 5 inqs in a year rebuilding your credit.. choose wisely and allow yourself time to get credit increases to show up on your credit report before applying for another card, and keep in mind.. before applying make sure you have $750\$800 available to every $1000 of credit reporting to fico.. it will increase your odds approval and higher limits if approved..  when credit card hunting spend $30 on a full accurate report each time.. it's like an insurance plan protecting you from hard inquiries and not receiving the card too.. that hurts bad, if you receive an inquiry and receive the card it will off set once credit line hits your report.. makes more sense to know what you have first, then research against cards that you CAN receive that will benefit your score rather than the one you want but may not receive for things around the house or in the bedroom.. just a thought.. a long one Smiley Wink

Re: Denied by Victoria's Secret...

Here is some info in regards to this topic. I applied for a Victoria's Secret card back in July of last year. I got approved for the card; I also received the 7-10 day message. I

didn't find out I had been approved for the card until I called in and they told me I was. This was 2 weeks later. Anyway, I applied for a Pottery Barn card about a week

after I had been approved for Victoria's Secret. I WAS DENIED WITH A 737 CREDIT SCORE...You want to know why? The rep told me that I HAD ALREADY BEEN

APPROVED FOR ONE COMENITY-ISSUED CARD. They only approve ONE COMENITY-ISSUED CARD EVERY 30 DAYS. He advised me to re-apply after my 30 days was

up, and I most certainly would be approved for it. So, it's a crime to get approved for more than ONE CARD ISSUED BY THE SAME BANK? If they didn't have such a

monopoly going on with these card issuing banks-i.e. Synchrony, Comenity-people would have a chance to get the cards they want. Synchrony will freeze your cards if you

get too many of them in a short time span. I was advised by one of their reps not to get more than 2 cards a month from them. This is ridiculous! I hope this helps because I

was just as bewildered as others when it came to why I was denied for Pottery Barn with a high score, low utilization, and NO BADDIES...SMH...
