That's what I saw. I app'd for Venture (not offered in prequal) then QS1, both denied. So far on my CR, I got one HP on each CR, not two because I app'd for Venture then QS1. Does that mean if I app'd for Venture, then QS1 denial used my Venture denial?
I mean if that is the case, I could give CapOne a call to see for recon even though recon with CapOne don't exist? Thoughts?
P.S. No score drop on my HP inq!
Ah-ha. I got two letters online.
The reason for my denial on Venture card:
Then the second denial letter after applying QS1:
As a result of this, I went ahead and called one of the backdoors number, Application Service Group department. They saw my QS1 application and assumed that it was a duplicate and did not run report because of Venture app. However, they said they can run this up for manual review but it also means it will generate another HP.
That means for the Venture and QS1, I have only generated one triple-HP.
Thoughts on what to do? Manual review may take up to 3 week, sometimes quicker than that. Take this advantage by not going for manual review and wait til my scores jump, utilization go down, etc?
Did you really think you would get a $5k+ Venture card if all those things are on your credit report?
Your highest open credit card limit is $450 and it is from a subprime lender?
I would just wait until your score jumps another 20+ points, then see what the prequals are.
Then choose one of the ones that you actually prequal for.

I'm highly optimistic, lol.
So far the HP hasn't affected my scores. I will wait two months or so.
Thank you, @Shooting-For-800!
Nothing wrong with that!
Keep checking back for a QS1 or QS.
Stay away from store cards and other subprime cc.
You can get a good regular card soon.

633 is pretty low score for Aviator and Venture. I didn't start applying for prime cards until my score was over 690. Capital One Platinum is usually given to most everyone. I disagree with the person who said to avoid store cards. I think I would try the Comenity trick and get some store cards to help your credit.
I'm assuming that eventually you'll want to get rid of the few subprime credit cards you have currently, so why not apply to something like the Discover it Secured card? After 6 months, they will review your account to see if you can be automatically converted to a non-secured version of the "it" card. That way, you'll have a long-term card, you'll build credit, etc.

Something I kind of don't really want to because if I did, I feel I will never graduate. I had Wells Fargo Secured Card that lasted over a year and it didn't graduate. I closed WF then, and moved forward. This was years ago though.
I checked the pre-approval qualifications with Discover and was not able to get any preapprovals due to: STATUS OF EXISTING / PRIOR DISCOVER CARD ACCOUNT
I IIB DiscoverIT of $500 iirc.
Anything happen with Cap One?
