As covid relaxed and the signup bonus is at least 60k miles I decied to apply the United Explorer card. With all FICO 8 scores above 770 and 5 cards in the past 24 months, I decided to apply anyway as many posts in this forum mentioned that Chase has been approving cobranded cards without having to worry about 5/24 rule. I was Denied. Tried recon and they mentioned the same reason that 5/24 applies to all cards. I am not sure If I can still pursue with a different recon agent, as they pulled 2 reports TU and EX am very upset with denial. I would appreciate your feedback!
Think you can meet chase private client status
I have also gotten denied just a few weeks back. My Credit report is thinner than your (having opened all of my 5 cards currently reporting in the past year) [BCP not currently reporting] but they did mention 5/24 but said it wasn't a big deal. I was able to go through recon and that's why they gave me two bigger reasons for me specifically which were the age of my accounts all being less than 1 year and not having any bank credit lines at the time above $5k limit. As long as fulfill those last two and your income is decent, I don't think you should be denied, at least given what they have told me.
Let me know how it goes but I definitely recommend calling again and reconning again. I explained that I was applying for this card cause I would give it use and it would help me since I do at least 3-4 United roundtrip flights per year and the checked bag and status would be useful to me.
Thanks for your response !! I will try and let you know how it goes
Thank you for your response !! I will try this way as well and see
I tried recon once again. They are saying that 5/24 still applies for all the Chase cards with no exception
