Who's bigger in assets? Diners or NASA?
BMO hands down. They have like $500+ billion and Nasa is just over $1 (one) billion.
Is Finstar having a bidding war for AU on these things or what?

That wait time is actually so ridiculous, that it almost starts to be funny.
I hear they have to bring the master approval stone tablet down from the mountain.
Hey MyFico forum family,
I just got off the phone with DC and talked to a CSR and then to a Analyst that seems to have a little bit of knowledge. This is what I was told:
- The demand is overpowering the system and it cannot handle it;
- They have taken down the application link to stave off new applications and allow the new ones to move through the system;
- While it is down, the IT Web team is rebuilding the app process to allow larger volume and handle the apps in a new way;
- Look for it to be back up in 1 to 2 weeks.
Now this all started from asking the CSR the difference between the two cards, if I should apply for both, etc. She was the one to tell me that the system was down and that I could app, but would have to wait. I then asked if my current app and CR could be used to do a lateral approval on the other product, and that's what got me to the backline analyst.
Now, I have heavy IT knowledge from my background and have had a hand in similar things with retailers, financial houses, and secondary market servicers. This is possible and has happened. Every time that I have called in, every single one has said the demand is overwhelming, they are bringing in more people, blah, blah, blah.
Everything from apps being lost to being looped in the system and being able to find them after multiple tries with different info seems to fit as a possibility.
The phone call ended with the analyst saying that the link will be back up in a week or two and to apply again then.
Hope this helps.

That's good to hear. At least they recognize that they weren't prepared for the volume of applications and are taking steps to make the application process better. I can wait a couple weeks to apply for the second card.
So for all you Diners Club experts out there... when should I call them to check on the status of my application? Which is the best number to call?

Now.
Really at any point. You can try 1-877-604-6723. Since the door barely closed after your application, it's likely you're on the tail end of the app frenzy. If no news today, you can try early next week. The UW folks are only available during M-F 8am-5pm (CST).
