Diners Club Credit limit Increase??

Decided today was the day to give it a try. Keep in mind I only have a 5k limit on my premier. and my Profile and score has increased dramatically since last october when i got my DinersClub card. Ive not spoken with them since we all went thru the Drama of calling every couple of days to see if we were approved and since all of the approvals were manual. I explained to the Csr that ive had a pretty high balance for a while and will be traveling. and i have of course paid more than my share of interest on the card as well as much more than minimum payments. She put me on hold and connected me to the lending Department,  A man this time. i was on hold for about15 mins hearing all that music. So agent came on line at last and asked how much did i want to increase my limit to and if it would be ok to pull my credit file. So no sp increase is gonna happen. I gave him my blessings to pull. Also i told him i needed at least and additional 5k. to bring my limit to 10k. put on hold again, this time another 15 mins geez. they actually went all the way back to 1990 on my credit report. and denied me saying i had too many accounts opened in the last 12 months. Rep had a question and noted that i had not filed bankruptcy or any major items since then and was wondering why are most of my accounts from the last 2 years. i explained that honestly i was just not a big credit user. other than a car here in there in the last 15 years. never was into credit cards. He told me to call back after i had some age under my belt and to try again in 6-8 months. as i had a whole lot of credit available to me at this time. and that they are happy to see me utilizing their card over the many others. . Cant believe they went all the way back.Told me of the 2 cars i purchased. ok. was never late. but those things are not on my current reports. how could he see them??After all this.  I said thank you for your time and hung up

Is it possible they pulled something else besides a credit report to go back that far? On a side note, I wonder if they are kinda like Simmons/Iberia where its kinda tough to get an increase granted they did give out some decent lines.

Well i have not gotten any alerts as of yet. Im not sure what the hell they looked at. But dude had a whole lot of information on me. Maybes that why on hold so long. Looks like they are worst than Simmoms/iberia. They are not taking apps any more. already of 10 months. and they are not giving any increases either. But still in shock they went that far back on me.

EDIT> Just got the alert now from credit sesame. Looks like they pulled transunion.

I think taxi that you are one of the very brave few who would even dare to poke that bear after all this time.

In fact (there may be some in here) i haven't read of any success yet of anyone getting their original limits changed but like i said there may be some i just haven't read of any myself.

I have noticed people fearing them. But damn. its been 10 months since this thing started. I said what is the worst can happen? they close my card. ok. its only 5k. they will need to give me time to pay them off anyway. I can tell you they are not use to any one calling them. Because at the end of the call. The rep had to catch him self. he said thanks for calling BMO. then said i meant Diners club. he was going to say Bmo harris.

I tried a few months ago. I was boned too.
I had a feeling they wanted to do the increase, but you better be the cleanest if the clean.
I was told not to try again until my only baddy was gone.

My file is squeaky clean. No negatives. 1 inq now 2 on Tu. low util. Just 7 accounts according to them is last year. Also wanted to know why not many credit cards in last 25years. And why only 2 car loans. This is why I'm upset. For them to mention that. He also said. Did you file bk. because you are too clean. What the hell

Sorry to hear..  You went through the ringer it appears by the analyst.  Doesn't appear they will be opening up applications anytime soon from the sound of that conversation or they will be extremely tight.  You are one of the brave that have asked.  Good data point although it cost you a hp

Honestly could not figure why i was on hold 15 mins. I guess he looked everything over with a fine tooth comb. Yes i had a couple of negatives in 2007. but that was from predatory lending which i quickly ended that nonsense. also had a collectoin from 2010 on my cable bill. but honestly i know for sure ive not had anything on my credit good or bad since 1997. Im not sure if it is legal for them to even look that far. But in the end he did say try again in 6-8 months.
