Re: Diners Club Credit limit Increase??

Kudo's Taxi for taking this challenge.  I do know that lenders at times check BK records which are public records.  Comenity got me on that.  I was about 4 points from their top credit scoring model but got denied because of a 1993 BK.  The rep told me as long as I have a BK on file, forget about receiving a Comenity card.  I was shocked that they checked BK records but now I know.

Re: Diners Club Credit limit Increase??

I never actually filed a bk. he was in shock how I've never really had a lot of negatives over the last 25 years. Still don't know if it was legal for them to look that far back.

I would imagine they can look at anything that is public records.  Now using that information against you might be a different story as they have to make credit equally available.

Re: Diners Club Credit limit Increase??

That's what I mean. My personal credit file is not public records. I've never filed a bk. had a repo in 1991. 2 bad credit cards ever. Just was never into credit. Rep even mentioned that. But he did tell me to try again in 6 months. I think that is standards answer from Diners Club. I'm not even upset. I love my card. This card will be with me for many years to come. I don't think they will ever re open apps either.

Maybe the repo and bad credit cards resulted in court filings?   If so, they are usually public records.  I think they will open up apps again, but it may be many years.  Who knows, they may shut us all down if they feel that this is hitting their bottom line.  I hope not though.

Re: Diners Club Credit limit Increase??

Well they have made profit for me. So I don't see why they would want to shut us down. I know some of guy have two 30k cards. I would be walking on ice too if I had that. But with my limit. It would hurt me a bit if they shut it down. I hope not. I love keeping the prying fico eyes away from my usage

Yes I agree.  The hidden TL is great.  I just started putting any serious charges on mine last month.  Before that it was only a couple hundred dollars because I feared either a shut down or reporting.  My 15k twins are up and running now.
