Re: Disappointed when you don't receive a CLI?

Credit is a hobby that saves me money as it improves so I throughly keep track of it. Beats some other hobbies that cost me money Smiley Happy

I believe there will be a point where some cards will stop growing. Or they won't grow as fast as they used to.

I keep track of all of my cards. When they receive a CLI, how much it is and when they are due for another one. I find that I'm disappointed when they don't receive an increase. Especially after giving the card a lot of use. This happened to me with my Barclay Rewards card yesterday. I guess I'll try again next month.

I feel exactly the same way

Discover I.T. (11k) - U.S. Bank Platinum (9k) - NASA (30k) - Venture (22K) - AMEX Delta Skymiles Gold (6k) -AMEX PRG (AU) plus a few CU CC's and Store Cards = 130k (roughly)

Re: Disappointed when you don't receive a CLI?

Disappointed when I've worked to get Uti down, got the last derogatory removed, the latest TU score update reflects on my Discover It statement, yet they deny my cli request based on an obviously old SP that still shows the now removed derogatory and previous Uti Smiley Sad

Re: Disappointed when you don't receive a CLI?

I never cared what my credit limits were and never thought to ask for a CLI until I started reading forums like this one and read about what other people were doing.  Now I do ask for CLI from time to time.  I keep a spreadsheet and I am disapointed if I don't get what I was expecting based on what I read online.

I know the feeling.... How long was it before you got your first CLI on the apple Visa? I tried last month and they denied me smh.... no luck on my paypal mastercard and Amex either.... Discover gave me 2 Cli's since I opened it in July...... The rest was open in August....

I'm the same way. I live vicariously through my soft pull cli. Those help me refrain from applications. I don't need the amount of credit I have, but I guess it just feels so rewarding after building so long.

Not disappointed, more like impatient when I started re building. Now I don't care all that much. As for barclays; forget it. That card has been SD'd. Still at 500 after 6 months  and lots of use?! It's not worth it to me and I have had some very nice approvals since then. I like that some of you keep records of cli's, when & how much.

Barclays has been odd for me.  I started with the $1k rewards card, and so far I've been able to call in after applying for a new card to get a CLI (they'll use the same pull/soft pull after a new card for CLI).  Never had an auto-cli with them before, but applying for a few cards and calling in to request CLI's it's grown to $10k over my 3 cards with them in the last 2 years.

Starting Scores (12/2012):EX 506; EQ 511; TU 518 | Current Scores (01/2016):EX 662; EQ 656; TU 653

Re: Disappointed when you don't receive a CLI?

I don't care, I get more credit line increases then I need. I'm more disappointed about our country's deficit.
