So it's official: Discover hates me. ![]()
I've had every one tell me to ask for a CLI 60 days +1 and today was that day. I tried hitting that luv button and they rejected my love that I so want to give them. Why can't they just love me back?
LOL anyways, for my real question... Does asking for a CLI in any way affect your chances of a CLI in the future? Like does getting rejected today mean that they won't give me an auto increase later, or hurt my chances when I ask again?
How long should I wait to ask for another one since I did get denied this time around?
Thanks!!

There is no particular schedule at which Disco may grant CLI. Whole 61 days thing is more attributable to Amex than Discover
You've also opened a bunch of accounts in a short period of time, which makes you appear more of a risk. They may not be willing to extend any more credit at this time. You may try every 30 days (about a week after they do a soft pull).
Honestly, I'd just slow down for a while . 7 new accounts in one month is a lot. Let the dust settle, CLIs will come (aka patience)
@Queen_Etherea, you're going to be fine.
First, keep in mind that there's no rhyme or reason with Discover and CLIs. Not everyone gets a CLI at 60 days. Sometimes, it's 90 days. Or maybe it's six months. Or whatever. ![]()
Basically, I'd check 60 days after opening the card (which you did), 30 days after a denial, and 60 days after an approval. As time goes on, you might detect a success pattern and go with that. The bottom line is that they don't penalize you for trying.
Someone who has the card should chime in on this, but I think one thing to do is time your requests so they come after the credit score update within your account each month.

I personally dont think it matters to them if you request more, if fact they ask you to request more, but i think with my discover card it was after 90 days before i asked for more and recieved it so i would put some use on it then ask again after 90 days, i have heard they like use on their cards, i put around 66 dollars on my card a month and i have a nice limit

You have plenty of other cards.. Why use discover, especially after they cancelled all benefits?

OP's question was about CLI, not her choice of cards.
If she needed help with that, she would have asked.
I dont think this is a proper thread for lender bashing.
